Before & After School Programs

Safe, supervised care before and after the school day, plus enrichment classes through our After School Program.

🌅 Morning Stars

Hours: 7:00am – 8:30am (students must arrive by 8:00am)

Not available on: Delayed opening days

Snacks: Morning Stars students receive the free school breakfast when the school day begins.

🌇 CASPER After-Care

Hours: 2:45pm – 6:00pm

Not available on: Half days, teacher-parent conferences, or professional development days

Snacks: CASPER provides afternoon snacks.

Payment policy: Monthly payments apply with a 5-day grace period. Children cannot attend if their balance is unpaid by the 10th of the month.

After School Enrichment Program (ASP)

The PS5 ASP offers a wide range of enrichment classes at reduced cost, with scholarships available.

Who: PreK 4 through 8th grade (not PreK 3)

When: Weekdays, 3:15pm – 5:15pm

Cost: Reduced fee; scholarships available — contact the PTA for details.

Current classes include:

  • Art
  • Breakdancing
  • Chess
  • Coding
  • Crochet
  • Dance
  • Beginner French
  • Lego
  • Mandarin
  • Musical Theatre
  • Soccer
  • Ukulele
