Theater at PS5 with Speranza Theater Company

Through the support of the PS5 Administration and the PTA,  Speranza Theatre Company will come into the classroom to work with students. Students are given the opportunity to use their 'creative voice' through theater games and creative writing. Success is measured via their own standards - not test scores, grades or external measures. Students are enriched artistically and receive a cultural experience that will remain with them for a lifetime.

Speranza Theatre Company is a non-profit women’s theater company and member of the New Jersey Theater Alliance. Founded to provide an opportunity for artists, particularly female artists, to share their voices through entertaining and challenging theater, Speranza presents professional theatrical performances, free readings of new works, and educational programming. Speranza values equality, inclusive, and collaboration, and passes these values on to the next generation of theater artists by providing arts education programs that promote life-long learning to a diverse community.
